Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 24 March 2026 · Version: 1.0
Operator:Kapsule Group Limited (“Kapsule”, “we”, “us”, “our”)
Kapsule is committed to making our marketplace accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that all people should be able to buy and sell with confidence on our platform, regardless of their abilities or the assistive technologies they use.
This Accessibility Statement explains our commitment, what we have done to make Kapsule accessible, known limitations, and how to get help or report an issue.
1. Our Commitment
1.1 Kapsule is committed to conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and represent the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility.
1.2 Our commitment to accessibility is also grounded in our obligations under the New Zealand Human Rights Act 1993, which prohibits discrimination on the grounds of disability.
1.3 We are working toward full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance across all pages and features of kapsule.co.nz. Where we have not yet reached full compliance, we are committed to continuous improvement.
2. Accessibility Features Implemented
2.1 We have implemented the following accessibility features on Kapsule:
Keyboard Navigation
- All core functionality is accessible using a keyboard alone (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, and arrow keys)
- Focus indicators are clearly visible throughout the site
- Skip navigation links allow keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation
- Logical tab order follows the visual layout of the page
Screen Reader Compatibility
- Semantic HTML is used throughout, providing meaningful structure for screen readers
- All images have descriptive alt text (or are marked as decorative where appropriate)
- Form fields have accessible labels and error messages
- ARIA landmarks and roles are used where HTML semantics are insufficient
- Dynamic content changes are announced to screen readers using ARIA live regions
Visual Design
- Text has a colour contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background (WCAG AA standard)
- Information is not conveyed by colour alone
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- The site is responsive and usable at various viewport sizes and zoom levels
Links and Navigation
- All links have descriptive, meaningful text (not just “click here” or “read more”)
- The current page is clearly identified in the navigation
- All pages have descriptive titles
Forms and Interactions
- Form validation errors are clearly communicated with accessible error messages
- Required fields are clearly indicated
- Sufficient time is provided to complete forms and actions
3. Known Limitations
3.1 We are working toward full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance, but we are aware of some areas where we are not yet fully compliant:
- Third-party content: Some content provided by third-party vendors (such as product images and descriptions uploaded by Sellers) may not meet full accessibility standards. We encourage Sellers to provide accessible content and are developing guidance to assist them.
- Complex data tables: Some data tables (e.g., in the seller dashboard) may not yet have all the accessibility features required by WCAG 2.1. We are actively working to improve these.
- PDF documents: Some downloadable PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are reviewing these and will provide accessible alternatives on request.
- Legacy pages: Older pages that have not been recently updated may have gaps in accessibility. We are progressively updating these.
3.2 We conduct regular accessibility audits and are committed to addressing known issues in order of impact and feasibility.
4. How We Test Accessibility
4.1 We test accessibility using a combination of:
- Automated testing tools (including axe and Lighthouse) as part of our development process
- Manual testing with keyboard navigation on major user journeys
- Testing with screen readers (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS)
- Regular reviews of new features before release

5.3 We will acknowledge your report within 2 business days and aim to resolve or provide a workaround within 10 business days.
5.4 If you require information from our site in an alternative accessible format (e.g., large print, simplified language, or alternative file format), we will make reasonable efforts to provide this upon request.
6. Legal and Standards References
6.1Kapsule’s accessibility commitment is informed by and seeks to comply with:
