Operator:Kapsule Group Limited (“Kapsule”, “we”, “us”, “our”)
Kapsule Group Limited, trading as Kapsule, is committed to the highest ethical standards in all aspects of our business and our supply chain. We believe that every person has the right to work in safe, dignified conditions, free from exploitation, coercion, and abuse.
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our policies, practices, and commitments relating to the prevention of forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, and other forms of modern slavery.
1. Our Commitment
1.1 Kapsule has zero tolerance for modern slavery, including:
- Forced labour: Any work or service extracted from a person under threat, coercion, or deception, including debt bondage and labour in exchange for accommodation or food
- Child labour: The employment of children below the minimum legal working age, or in hazardous conditions, in violation of international standards
- Human trafficking: The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, or receipt of persons for the purpose of exploitation
- Debt bondage: Where workers are trapped in employment to repay debts that grow beyond their ability to repay
- Servitude and slavery: Holding persons in conditions of servitude against their will
1.2 This commitment extends to all aspects of our business: our own operations, our vendor relationships, and the products sold on the Kapsule marketplace.
2. Our Business and Supply Chain
2.1 Kapsule is an online marketplace platform connecting independent New Zealand vendors with buyers. Our business model means we do not directly manufacture or produce goods, but we provide the platform and services that enable thousands of transactions between independent sellers and buyers.
2.2 Our supply chain includes:
- Independent vendors selling products on our marketplace (primarily New Zealand-based businesses and individuals)
- Technology and software providers supporting our platform infrastructure
- Professional services providers (legal, accounting, marketing)
- Logistics and courier partners for order delivery
2.3 While our vendor base is primarily located in New Zealand, we recognise that some vendors may source products from international supply chains. Our policies and requirements apply throughout these supply chains.
3. Policies and Prohibited Items
3.1 Kapsule explicitly prohibits the listing or sale of goods produced through forced labour, child labour, or human trafficking. This prohibition is set out in our Prohibited & Restricted Content Policy and our Seller Policy & Code of Conduct.
3.2 Vendors are required, as a condition of selling on Kapsule, to represent and warrant that their products have not been produced through any form of forced or trafficked labour.
3.3 Violation of these obligations may result in immediate account termination, withholding of funds, and reporting to law enforcement authorities where appropriate.
4. Vendor Vetting and Due Diligence
4.1 Our vendor onboarding process includes:
- Identity verification to confirm vendors are legitimate New Zealand businesses or individuals
- Agreement to our Seller Policy, which includes commitments regarding lawful sourcing and ethical business practices
- Review of product listings for compliance with our Prohibited Items Policy, including sourcing and origin requirements
- Prohibition on dropshipping from overseas suppliers, which reduces the risk of products from unverified supply chains entering our marketplace
4.2 We prohibit the resale of goods sourced directly from certain overseas platforms where supply chain visibility is limited and labour standards cannot be verified.
4.3 We conduct ongoing monitoring of listings and vendor activity and may request additional information about product sourcing where we have concerns.
5. How to Report Concerns
